APBackup doesn't work with Volume Shadow copy Service. And this feature is not in near plan.

Try to use passive mode

make sure you start this command from APFill istallation folder otherwise you should use full path to APFill.exe
for example:

Just exit from APBackup before install. As APBackup.exe is running installation process can't overwrite it.

No this option is available in trial version. You should enter "Prefix" or clear "Hide archive depth if prefix is not entered" flag in main program options dialog ("Generic parameteres" page).
