Service doesn't seem to work

I have a full APBackup license on Win2003, and I am running the service with an administrator account. I've read the other thread on this forum about registry, etc, but since I am running the service as an admin it shouldn't apply.
There is nothing in the log, and the scheduled tasks never run.
Can anyone help?
