problems with running service

I am attempting to install and run AppBackup v3.0.3228 on my Windows 2003 server.
I have read previous posts about how to get the service properly installed (installing service, exiting backup, starting service etc) and for the first attempt I can see an entry in the log file that says 'The Program was started as service' - so I set up a backup/archive job.
I administer my server via Remote Desktop, so when I have finished configuring the job I need to log out.
I need this backup to run automatically out of hours, about 04:00 GMT everyday.
However, the minute that I log out of the server, the 'service' is halted and none of my jobs are executed as per their schedule - if I look at the log file there is nothing in there except 'Normal shutdown at system shutdown' as nothing was executed, no mention of any errors.
Can you help, then I can buy.
thanks

You should stop service and enter into APBackup as a normal win32 application then congigure tasks and exit APBackup. Start the service APBackup_starter via control panel (You can examine APBackup.log file to make sure service is started).
