source/archive folders invalid; filename/extension too long

Post by handyman990 »

trying to do a full backup, just get the following error:
05/11/2008 10:58:25:[1001][E] Unexpected error. Either source or archive folders are invalid[Can not create destination file: [EID:3:The filename or extension is too long.]"K:\apbackup\SGH20081105_10-58\405\405 Bank Statements\bank statement 12 may.xls" Attr:[128] (Last processed file: "Creating folder is completed: K:\apbackup\SGH20081105_10-58\405\405 Bank Statements" Next file to process: "C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents\SIDEGATE\405\405 Bank Statements\bank statement 12 may.xlsFinal [1]Final [2]Final [3]")]

I have looked at previous posts and unchecked "store full source path on copy" and have checked "skip files with too long destination name".

Still returns the above error !!

PC is running XP, APBackup is running as service, backup is via network to stand alone Network hard drive.

any ideas what to try next. . .?

EID 3 means "The system cannot find the path specified" If you run APBackup as a service please use \\server\path instead of mapped drives (K:\).
