Task will not start automatically on computer start-up.

I am using ApBackup v3.0.3247 on WinXP.
I keep all my data on a 4GB USB Pen Drive, opening files from and saving files to, that drive. I use ApBackup to automatically backup the pen drive to a directory on my hard drive, on source file change.
In ApBackup, the Main Options window is set to: -
“The task is active” box is ticked
Backup Mode – Copy files
Kind of backup – Full backup
The Schedule window is set to: -
“On folder content’s change”, with all the attendant boxes ticked.
Start after timeout is set to 0:00:00
Schedule, Advanced, is set to: -
If error is occurred during the archivation – Repeat in 1 minute.
After booting my computer, it will not recognise the Pen Drive unless I plug the pen drive in after the boot sequence has finished. I then need to start the program which accepts the pen drive’s Privacy Password, so that I can access the “Private” part of the pen drive.
However, after doing this, I always have to right click on each task, click “Edit”, and then “Ok” in the edit window, to change the “Next Start” information from “Not monitored (The path to the source folders may be invalid)” to “On source files change.”
Is there any way I can get the schedule to operate automatically, without having to go through this Edit/Ok procedure every time I start my computer?
